A GOOD MIXER
EXHIBITS, PERFORMANCES, & PUBLICATIONS
Since the project began, pieces from A Good Mixer have appeared in print, in exhibitions, and on stage.
1. In June 2024, 12 of the completed cocktail personae are appearing in “Understanding/Fictions”, the 2024 Artist Fellows exhibition at The National Arts Club in New York City.
2. Excerpts from A GOOD MIXER appeared in a special supplement of the July 2021 issue of GRAND: The Journal of One Grand Books.
3. Several of the characters appeared in live performance in Poetry/Cabaret’s December 2019 show, “Seasoned!” and June 2022 show, “GRAND!”, both at The Green Room 42 in New York City.
4. We were invited by the S.T.E.P. (“Saunter, Trek, Escort, parade”) project to contribute a walking score, based on the concept of A Good Mixer, to their Fall 2018 exhibit at the Queens Museum and Flux Factory.
5. Five of the paintings, with poems, were included in the Collection as Art group show at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg in May and June of 2018.
6. Several of the paintings and their accompanying poems were exhibited at the Westbeth Gallery in New York City, in a group show sponsored by The Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors in January 2018.
7. Some of the poems have been performed dramatically at Alan Cumming’s nightclub, Club Cumming.
8. Two of the cocktail personae were included in a feature on Thomas March in The Adroit Journal, accessible here.
